May 2008 Refresh Meeting on Twitter

A big thanks goes out to @hober and @emp for presenting on their Twitter apps, @madrox for his impromptu presentation, @adora for streaming the meeting and everyone else that showed up and participated.

What is Twitter?
It's an online and offline text messaging limited to 140 characters. Enabled through mobile phones, Twitter website and dozens of applications.

Usage:
Social connection, entertainment, news, branding, sharing like minded information.

Positives:

Get the latest updates away from a computer. Broadcast to a group. No more reply all. Accepted as normal conversation. Can leave at any time. Share anything. It’s only 140 characters.

Downfalls: It’s only 140 characters. Can take lots of time, better spent elsewhere, bore or lose your followers if you start tweeting about something of no relevance or entertainment value to them.
